Perfection May Be The Enemy Of The Good – A Hypamovers Nightmare Story

Chief Adelabu was a successful entrepreneur for many years and was in a phase in his life getting ready for his retirement. He had also embarked on a project to build a 5-bedroom house, which he planned to spend his golden years. When the structure was completed, he started on the finishing, ensuring that the home was furnished to meet his standards. He had also reached out to a professional moving company to help him out with the move.

Chief however was a perfectionist, and since he needed his retirement home to be perfect, he kept on delaying his initially scheduled move date. He postponed his move multiple times that the moving company had no choice but to apply rescheduling fees, due to his frequent date changes.

About a month later, the person in charge of the moving company reached out to Chief Adelabu personally to inform him about their high demand due to the rainy season, and advised him to move sooner rather than later. Chief did not heed their advice as he wanted his new home perfect before he moved in…besides, he could afford the extra charges.

Unbeknownst to him, Chief Adelabu’s current abode had a major defect in its roof and unfortunately, there was a huge thunderstorm which made the roof cave in, flooding his entire home. The Chief almost went into a coma because most of his properties were completely damaged by the rain. He also did not have any form of Home or Rental insurance; hence he lost most of his property, which he had to replace with funds he did not budget for.

Though this was an unfortunate accident which no one could have predicted, Chief did regret not heeding previous advice to take advantage of an early move, and hence his constant delays cost him more than he had bargained for.
