Lagos State, the economic and commercial powerhouse of Nigeria is divided into 5 administrative divisions (Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Epe and Lagos (Eko), with each division lending parts of its territory to what is considered Metropolitan Lagos (Lagos Metro). Informally, however most people see Lagos as having two (2) major divisions:
These two major divisions are separated by the Lagos Lagoon and typically access via a collection of bridges such as the Eko Bridge and Third Mainland Bridge
